the bike was bought from juicy bike.
they gave us a bit of a discount on the usual cost of the bike, we saved our pennies up for it because it was a cheaper and more realistic option than trying to get insurance, tax and pay for the expenses of project cellbee (at the moment, an electric car is simply on hold)
dotdot (as we are affectionately calling her) is an electric bike. or in other terms an electrically assisted bike that helps you with the pedal part of the journey and can go up to about twenty (20) miles before she needs more juice again. the battery can be recharged in around four hours from standard mains.
the bike frame is from china and the rest of the parts (may also be imported) have been removed from the original bike and replaced with replacement items of better quality to build a stronger bike. she’s a pretty robust beastie.
dotdot will be the primary transport for myself (@philcampbell) during my time in the national forest. the intention was to be living in an ark by the start of the year in the heart of the national forest and that has not happened, on the flip side thou my determination has grown ever stronger to live a more sustainable and optimised day to day life leaving a lifestyle for my daughter to use as a base for her future years.
expect over the course of the year reports in here of upgrades and damage as they happen to the bike!
